Ethermon is an expanding ecosystem of blockchain games that aims to unlock the full potential of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Players earn rewards by collecting, playing, and competing with their Ethermon Monsters (Mons) across platforms and game modes.
“Non-fungible” refers to how each token is unique and irreplaceable, unlike cryptocurrency tokens which are fungible or interchangeable within the same currency. Both cryptocurrency and NFT data are stored on a given blockchain, although they are developed following different standards to how they are represented on the blockchain.
NFTs such as Ethermon Monsters follow the ERC-721 standard, which describes how to build non-fungible or unique tokens on the Ethereum blockchain.
Launched in 2017, Ethermon is one of the first blockchain games to leverage functional NFTs and operate on Ethereum. Thanks to our unwavering player base and strong core community, we remain one of the longest-standing games in a highly volatile industry. As of May 2021, there are over 12,000 unique Ethermon asset owners.
We believe that the future of gaming is decentralized.
We believe that gaming assets should be player-owned, functional across games and platforms, and profitable for all players — from casual to professional.
We believe that players should have a voice in the governance of the games they contribute to, as well as a tangible stake in their success.
We believe Ethermon is the game to lead the way into this monumental era of player-centered blockchain gaming.
